What products do you sell? Is it just wardrobes?

We offer a range of wardrobe organisers and storage solutions for wardrobes, linen and hallway cupboards, garages and just about anywhere storage is required! We also make custom sliding doors which come in a range of panel options including mirror, glass, melamine and mdf, which we make to fit exactly to your door frame. Our products are designed to optimise your storage space and enhance the aesthetics of your home.

Do you provide installation services?

Yes, we offer professional installation services for all our products within our installation zones. However, if you prefer to install them yourself, we can also supply the products with detailed installation instructions. For areas outside our installation zones, we can arrange delivery for you to your home or the nearest freight depot for collection.

Can I customise the design of my wardrobe organiser and sliding doors?

Absolutely! As a modular wardrobe company, we specialize in practical and cost-effective storage solutions, saving you time and money. While some of our products come in standard sizes, we can adjust the dimensions of hanging and shelving spaces to fit almost any area. You can choose from a wide range of materials, finishes, and configurations to suit your needs. Our sliding doors are custom-made to perfectly fit your door frame openings. If you plan to install them yourself, simply provide us with your measurements. If you’d prefer us to handle the installation, we’ll come to your location to take accurate measurements.

Please note that we do not offer bespoke designs or scribing, which are best handled by a cabinet fitter.

Where are your products made?

We manufacture most of our products at our Auckland based factory in Silverdale, and source a range of products both locally and overseas. In this global market, our ability to source products internationally allows us to offer you excellent quality material at competitive prices, including coloured melamine panelling sourced from Europe – exclusive to Wardrobes Direct, with no colour surcharge! Our management team oversees all quality control to ensure our products maintain our high standards, and we back ourselves with a 10 year warranty on all products.

How much does it cost for a basic wardrobe organiser?

Upgrading your wardrobe cabinetry can be quite affordable and is a popular option for refreshing your bedroom’s look, and adding value to your home.
At Wardrobes Direct, we offer special pricing on our standard designs, making them even more affordable, with prices typically ranging from $800 to $2,000.
For custom designs outside of our standard options, the cost typically ranges from $1,000 and $3,000, but this will vary depending on the size, design and materials you choose.

How much does it cost for a walk-in wardrobe?

The cost of a walk-in wardrobe can vary widely based on its size, layout, and the materials or finishes you select.
On average, you can expect to spend between $2,500 and $5,000 for an entry-level walk-in wardrobe design, or between $5,000 and $10,000 for our mid-premium walk-in wardrobe designs.
More elaborate designs, wardrobe size, or premium materials may increase the price further.

What material are your sliding doors made from?

All of our sliding doors are made with quality Aluminium frames and tracks, meaning they are super strong and will never rust! The latest technology has been embraced to ensure the wheels glide smoothly and whisper quiet. Panel options include melamine, mdf, mirror and glass.

OUR PROCESS

What should I do first?

We recommend starting with a consultation at one of our showrooms. Here, a skilled wardrobe designer will take the time to discuss your storage needs, budget, and timeline. Visiting our showroom allows you to explore our displays, test the functionality of drawers and sliding doors, and see our full range of colour options up close. To make the most of your visit, we suggest bringing rough measurements of the spaces you want to outfit, along with any door frame openings for sliding door installations.

Can’t visit a showroom? No worries! We can also assist you via email to find the perfect solution for your needs.

Do you come to my house to provide a quote?

Initially, no. We recommend visiting our showroom so you can see our full range of products. Since our products aren’t easily portable, there’s limited value in a home visit. It’s better to view the wardrobe displays to appreciate the design and colour options. After a design consultation and once you’re ready to move forward, one of our qualified installers will visit your home to take measurements.

I don’t live near your showrooms, can I still order from you?

Absolutely! We offer freight delivery across New Zealand. In most cases, we can deliver directly to your door. For more remote areas, we can arrange delivery to the nearest freight depot for you to collect. Contact our team today for a quote!

What are your lead times?

Lead times vary depending on the complexity of the order, but typically range from 4-6 weeks for custom wardrobe designs and custom-made sliding doors. Some items are available much sooner than this. We will provide an estimated date when you enquire with us!

Can you remove or build walls?

No, we do not handle any construction work. The customer is responsible for completing any necessary preparation of the storage space. We have contacts that can be recommended if you need.

I don’t have a wardrobe cavity, do you sell complete wardrobes?

Yes we have a range of Freestanding Wardrobes that are a full wardrobe solution, perfect for rooms without wardrobes. There is a variety of storage options and door styles available. Freestanding Wardrobes can be positioned anywhere in the house, although we do recommend fixing the wardrobe to the wall behind for safety reasons.

I plan to install myself – how do I take measurements?

We provide a detailed guide on how to measure your space accurately. If you need assistance, our customer service team is available to help. If you’re uncertain about taking measurements on your own, we strongly recommend choosing our installation service. Our professional installers will handle the site measurement and ensure everything fits perfectly on installation day.

Can I collect my order?

Yes, you can arrange to collect your order from one of our showrooms once it’s ready. Please note that collection is available Monday to Friday, and you’ll need to bring someone with you to help uplift the goods. The goods are not packaged for freight, so please bring blankets, tarps, or tie-downs to secure them during transit and ensure they arrive in the same condition as when they left.

INSTALLATION

How long does professional installation take?

Installation times vary depending on the complexity of the project. Generally, most installations are completed within one day.

How much does installation cost?

Installation costs vary based on the size and complexity of your order, as well as your location. Our installation service includes a site measurement, delivery, and the installation itself. Contact our team for a personalised quote.

Do you remove my old wardrobe or doors?

It is the customer’s responsibility to remove any existing fixtures prior to installation day. We would recommend a builder or handyman carry out this work for you.

What do I need to prepare for installation day?

Please make sure the installation area is clear and accessible, and ensure any existing fixtures and clothing are removed before installation day. Our team will handle everything else!

Can I install the wardrobe organisers and sliding doors myself?

Yes, you can. We provide detailed installation instructions with all our products. If you encounter any issues, our customer service team is here to assist you.

They sure do! All our products come with a 10 Year Warranty. Please refer to our warranty policy for more details here

PAYMENT

What are the payment terms?

For orders $2,000 and under in value, and all Supply-only jobs, payment is required in full. For orders over $2,000 in value, a 50% deposit is required. The balance is due before installation to retain your scheduled installation date (we will email you a reminder).

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa and Mastercard (instore or over the phone), or you can pay by bank transfer.
We do NOT charge extra for credit card payments!
